Purpose:
JEE Main is a standardized, computer-based test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to assess the knowledge and aptitude of students seeking admission to various technical undergraduate programs.
Institutions:
It leads to admissions in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
JEE Advanced:
Qualifying JEE Main is a prerequisite for appearing in JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Exam Structure:
JEE Main consists of two papers: Paper 1 for B.Tech/B.E and Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning.
Frequency:
JEE Main is generally conducted twice a year, in January and April.
Syllabus:
The syllabus for JEE Main is based on the NCERT textbooks for Class 11 and 12.
